Another Western Australian winemaking gem is the Geographe Bay region. Long recognised for its premium grapes, this area is quickly emerging as one of Australia’s most exciting new wine regions. With world-class food and wine offerings, the Two In Hand Wines team could not recommend Geographe Bay more for your next trip to Perth!
Beyond breathtaking scenery and beaches, as well as nearby attractions including the Busselton Jetty, Cape Naturaliste Lighthouse and museum, the rapid expansion of boutique wineries in the region is just another reason to visit Geographe Bay!
The spread of plantings inland from the coast has resulted in more diverse styles of wines.
The Cabernet Sauvignon blended with Merlot tends to be finer and more elegant than that of either the Margaret River or the Mount Barker regions, with lingering, soft fine-grained tannins.
Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon tie as the second most widely planted varieties in this region. A crisp white, the region produces a tangy wine with grassy herbal overtones... a light touch of oak is an optional extra. A great place to stop by for a day or two on your way to the Margaret River or the Great South West.
